"On the Move"
Sponsors project on Highway 99 receives federal tax credits.

At the end of October Sponsors received notice that the agency's application for $3.1 million in federal tax credits and $173,000 in state grants had been awarded. At the end of July we submitted our Consolidated Funding Cycle (CFC) application to the Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS). The CFC application includes funding from the State Housing Trust Fund and the Low Income Weatherization program. The bulk of the complex and highly competitive application provides federal tax credits issued by the state through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). In total the CFC will provide funding for approximately 60% of the total project cost. We have already received a commitment of $730,000 in HOME subsidies from the City of Eugene. With over 70% of the funding committed we are truly "On the Move".
This $5.5 million dollar project will significantly expand the agency’s capacity by adding:
-
20 additional transitional beds
-
3 additional Honor’s beds (client stay for up to 1 year)
-
Conference and meeting rooms
-
A 2,500 sq. ft. storage building
There will be numerous economies of scale achieved by centralizing our operations that currently exist in buildings that we rent on scattered sites. We presently spend over $125,000 annually on rent and utilities in these dilapidated buildings that have extremely high utility usage.
We will also be able to manage our donations more efficiently with a building dedicated to storage of supplies and donations. We will have space for meeting rooms where we can offer:
